IndieGoGo; Record-at-Home Website; Summertime Festivals; Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Well, I am very pleased to have stumbled upon this fantastic tool for independent artists. I give full props to IndieGoGo! If you would like to check out my project (or others), and help fund it (or help fund others), please go here.

I am being featured on this fascinating website called Record At Home. It contains oodles of information for all things music related. Please check it out!

Summer is here! Yay!!! I’m extremely excited to be part of two festivals happening in July. The first one is SOS Fest here in Edmonton! It is going to be such a great event! Please check out the great line up and get your tickets!

The second festival I’ll be at is Flower Fest. It is put on by my good friend Breezy Brian Gregg, and a bunch of great volunteers! I had the opportunity to be a musical guest last year, and it was such a great experience to be singing outdoors, surrounded by trees, and birds, and happy people. You can camp out for the weekend, or just come out for the day. It is held just west of Edmonton, and you can learn all about it here.

I would like to thank all of my friends and supporters, near and far. I have connected with some great musicians, and music lovers, via the net, industry events, open stages, etc., and I feel extremely fortunate to be a musician and part of the scene, however vast and daunting it at times seems.

Album artwork, a fun day-trip to Athabasca, and Lindsay's new website!!

Okay, I’m working backwards tonight:

Lindsay’s fantastic new website that she made herself is live! Congratulations, Lindsay!

Today, Lindsay and I set out on a fun little adventure to play the Hoedown Festival in Athabasca AB. We had a great time! The scenery was beautiful, and the drive was relatively short. The laughter was plenty, and the music was fantastic! I really enjoyed all of the good, old-time country music. All of the performers were great, though my favourite (if I were to pick one) would have to be the elderly lady that rocked out on the rhythm guitar, bopping and singing in a sweet soprano voice! It was quite the spectacle – she was so precious! Our set went well, and some of the moments were quite magical. I don’t know how that happens… A good audience is certainly required for it to happen, and we sure had that! The audience was full of superb listeners! And then you need good sound – the sound was excellent. And then you need to be (for lack of better words) “in the zone”. And we were. It was…. (I’m running out of positive adjectives here…) an absolutely wonderful little festival!

Well, the album artwork is well underway, and it is turning out beautifully! I’ll be posting an image of the cover shortly, as well as some new photos of the recent photo shoot!

Thanks for stopping by!

The tour was a success in more than one way! Spring! News! A new keyboard!

Tour News:

The music was well received, and the performances were a lot of fun! We were fortunate to have great audiences, and great hosts!

Being on the road was a lot of fun! My smile muscles ache just thinking about all of the laughter we partook in! It made the trend of long drives and short sleeps much more than just tolerable!

Other News:

Spring is finally here! It is the time for picnics and playgrounds, bike rides and being outside! Yay!

I will keep you up to date with news of the album artwork, new songs, and upcoming gigs, etc. I’m planning another short tour for the end of the summer, as well as some mini-tours around the time of the CD release in October! Yay!!

Lastly, I am the recent owner of a Roland RDX 700 SX!! So, I can now play my piano songs at my shows!! Yay!!!

Pre-Release Tour Begins Tomorrow!!!

Well, it has been awhile since I’ve been on the road… I’ve almost forgotten how it works!! I think it goes something like this:

Drive a long, long, long way. Drink some coffee during the drive. Find the venue (I have detailed maps for every A to B along the way, unlike last time…). Set up. Drink some more coffee. Play the songs. Make jokes. Laugh! Have a good time! Party a little after the show. Say good night to everyone. Drive to the place where you will crash for the night. Try to unwind. Maybe fall asleep (did I mention that I’m an insomniac – I know you are thinking that I should drink less coffee). Get up early. Drink some coffee. Do some yoga, maybe… Drive a long, long, long way. Drink some coffee during the drive. (Hey, I wish I had a car adapter for my coffee bean grinder and kettle – that would be sweet!)

Ahhh… Now I remember what touring is like!

I’ll keep you up-to-date! Wish me luck!

Fly and Drift...

...is now posted on ReverbNation. We recorded this one live-off-the-floor at Sound Extractor back in November, with the exception of the background vocals and electric guitar. Lindsay Woolgar on bass and back up vocals; Alex Boudreau on electric guitar.

Enjoy!
